When Zoe was a teenager, her dad gave her a book on Perl and a book on MySQL. He told her she could try programming after she finished reading the books and could answer some reading comprehension questions. She read the first page of one of the books and decided nothing could be worth that, and decided to become a chemist instead. Funny how things sometimes work out: she ended up with a master’s degree in library science, which isn’t an unusual route to her business analyst role. Her parents were clowns - literally, clowns! (the jokes just write themselves) - and sometimes would dress up for their kids and paint their faces like tigers. The one thing Zoe would like to have before she dies is a full night’s sleep.
